Helping You Help Your dog
New puppy home visits
Home visits to help you get your new puppy off to a good start. Issues such as toilet training and puppy biting.
Start your puppy with the best from the very beginning. Good life skills are essential to becoming a well balanced dog. This can be beneficial prior to starting puppy classes.
A home visit for puppies up to age 6 months costs £70 1.5hr visit in your own home.
One to one Behaviour Consultations
For any problem behaviour issue.
If your dog needs help with a specific behavioural issue, Behaviour Consulting with Gentle Paws Professional Dog Training and Behaviour, may be a great option for you.

Reactive Dog assessments and training.
Full assessment of reactive dogs,that show aggression towards humans and/or other dogs. A full assessment / training plan and ongoing support given.
It can be incredibly stressful owning a reactive dog and can feel quite isolating. I build confidence in the owners management and abilities whilst a full behaviour training programme is put into place.
All size and breed of dogs can become reactive for a variety of reasons.
My facilities include a converted training barn and two large fields, your dog can work in a controlled environment around my trained stooge dog, when ready.

An assessment gives me the opportunity to look at the emotions that are driving your dogs behaviour. Getting as much history as possible and gaining knowledge of previous behaviour, I can support both you and your dog moving forward. Many people feel that they need more practical support with dog to dog/reactivity, something which I feel is a huge help to the owners confidence and helping the dog become less reactive.

All my classes are taught using kind and effective methods. The classes are fun and help you to build a fantastic relationship with your puppy.

- Maximum of 6 puppies on each class. In good weather we use the field, otherwise in the training barn.

If here at Gentle Paws, training will be in my 4 acre field and training barn.

Adolescent/young dog training classes
Personalised and Professional
A 4 week training class particularly for adolescent dogs and young dogs. Appropriate age from 6 months to 3 years .£75 Saturday classes.
Evening classes start in the spring.

Residential training for puppies
Important life skills.
Residential training for fully vaccinated puppies up to approximately 5 months.
They will stay in my home and socialise with my own dogs. The pup will go out for training with me 121, to lots of different locations for all essential life skills and any behaviour issue you wish me to focus on.One week £550, I would suggest a 2 week stay.

I am a very experienced positive reinforcement dog trainer and behaviourist.
I have worked with traumatised and shut down rescue dogs for many years. Rehabilitating them to become well balanced pet dogs.

I only use scientifically proven, positive reinforcement training methods. I have years of experience in running life skills, puppy and dog training classes, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment, at my own facilities in Pyle.
​
I work with reactive dogs that show aggression and fear towards other dogs and people, very scared dogs, those with separation anxiety and many other behavioural problems. I have studied with IMDT and advanced dog training with APDT amongst others.
I have 12 dogs of my own, 9 of which are rescues. I am based in Bridgend and also cover the Cardiff and Swansea areas.
I am also the founder and director of a foster based dog rescue called Barney's Small Breed Rescue in South Wales.
